Additional Sheets
2012 Annual Report
Miller Gravel Pit
M- 1982 -112
Schmidt Construction Company
Anniversary Date: March 11
Overview of Permit Year: During the 2011/2012 operating year all activity involved sales from stockpiles
produced as far back as late 2010. No additional land was affected or additional material mined.
Annual Report Maps: No map is provided this year as no additional land was affected or reclaimed. The
acreages reported on the annual report form were based on new, high detail imagery obtained from independent
sources in 2011. The mapped features on previous annual report maps were confirmed as accurate; only the
acreage changed very slightly when compared to previous calculations from aerial imagery.
Affected Lands: The amount of affected land calculated to 58.6 acres, however, 13.68 acres of that area has
been backfilled, topsoiled, and revegetated. This leaves a net current, unreclaimed disturbance of 44.92 acres.
No new affected land was produced in the last permit year. No work has been done in the amendment area.
Revegetation: No additional reclamation work was done in the last year as everything is caught up.
Work Anticipated in 2012/2013: Product demand remains extraordinarily low due to the slow construction
economy. There are some signs that the real estate market is beginning to recover from this long slump. At this
point, the only material sold is provided on an appointment basis and what is sold comes from older stockpiles.
It is unknown and unpredictable as to whether new land will be opened in the next permit year. In the
meantime, the operation is kept in good order and mining could resume very quickly with little preparation
required, if the market demands.
Schmidt Construction 2012 Annual Report M- 1988 -112 Miller Gravel Pit Page 1 of 1
