III) MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTIONS OF PREVENTATIVE MEASURES <br />A) INSPECTIONS <br />• All areas listed in section I should be evaluated on a weekly basis. Each <br />department on site should conduct evaluations as it applies to their work area. <br />For example: <br />(a) Process is responsible for evaluating process areas such as, lined process <br />ponds and the Valley Leach Facility. <br />(b) Mine Operations is responsible for evaluating excavated areas and highwalls <br />that pertain to mining operation. <br />(c) Departments that have the potential to have spilled product are responsible <br />for evaluating their areas and managing the clean up any spills that occur. <br />(d) Exploration is responsible for excavations (sumps) and any other exploration <br />related projects that could potentially adversely affect wildlife. <br />(e) Projects is responsible for all sites that are under construction and related <br />activities that are coordinated through the Projects Department. <br />• Inspections should ensure that preventative measures are in place and meet all <br />criteria detailed under section I). PREVENTATIVE MEASURES, of this plan. <br />• If repairs are determined necessary, these repairs should be completed within 48 <br />hours of the evaluation. <br />B) MAINTENANCE <br />IV) LEGACY CONSIDERATIONS <br />A) RECLAMATION <br />Preventative measures should be maintained to meet criteria detailed under <br />section I., PREVENTATIVE MEASURES, of this plan, until the reclamation bond for a <br />given area has been released or reclaimed to the extent that wildlife sre no <br />longer exposed to potential risks outlined herein. <br />• Habitat management and creation, if part of the Reclamation Plan, should be <br />directed toward encouraging the diversity of both game and non -game species, and <br />shall provide protection, rehabilitation or improvement of wildlife habitat. <br />• Operators are encouraged to contact Environmental Resources, whom may contact <br />the Colorado Division of Wildlife and /or federal agencies with wildlife responsibilities <br />to see if any unique opportunities are available to enhance habitat and /or benefit <br />wildlife which could be accomplished within the framework of the approved final <br />Reclamation Plan. <br />CC &V Wildlife Protection Plan Page 4 of 7 <br />EMS: AGANA/CC &V Printed Copies are Uncontrolled <br />S: \4 -0055 CC &V MLE2 \CDRMS A10 Application \Updates from 12 -19 -2011 Mtg\MLE2 \Wildlife Protection Plan.doc <br />November 22, 2011 <br />Doc. # E -042 <br />Rev. 0, <br />
