Fire protection is provided by on- board, dry - chemical, ABC type fire
suppression systems or by hand -held, dry - chemical fire extinguishers (or a combination
of both) provided at strategic locations convenient to the personnel and suitable for the
hazards in the works areas. Use of fire extinguishers is addressed with all personnel
during required training after being hired and at least annually thereafter.
11.0 FUEL FARM
The primary fuel storage area is located east of the crusher facilities. The number of
tanks, tank sizes, and materials stored are listed in Table 3. The tank area is bermed
and lined to contain spills. Fire protection is provided by hand held, ABC rated, dry -
chemical fire extinguishers provided at strategic locations near the tanks, the mine water
trucks (13,000 and 18,000 gallon capacities) equipped with water monitors controlled
from within the truck, and fire hose connections.
