Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company Squaw Gulch Valley Leach Facility Design
The predicted pond volume for the PSSA is presented in Figure 4. The capacity of the
PSSA was calculated based on the average ore depth of 175 feet presented in the
ore - stacking plan shown on Drawing A100 and Figure 1. Using the load- porosity
relationship for Cresson ore presented in Figure 6, this corresponds to a porosity of
0.35, and yields a pore volume of 175.5 million gallons (MG) at an elevation of 9,445
feet above mean sea level (amsl) (5 feet below the PSSA crest). Eighty percent of the
total PSSA volume is 140.5 MG, which corresponds to an elevation of 9,433.2 feet
amsl.
As shown, the PSSA is predicted to fully contain solutions, including contingency
inflow, reporting to the PSSA through the life of the VLF. It is important to note that the
maximum anticipated PSSA storage volume (including all contingency flows) is
approximately 92 MG, which represents only 52 percent of the maximum available
PSSA capacity, and 65 percent of the 80 percent PSSA capacity.
Project No.: 74201125G0 Page 39
1 September 2011
amec0
