Cunningham, Environmental Protection Specialist
CC: Division 1 Office, District 3 Water Commissioner
FROM: Sarah Brucker, P.E.:Tr
RE: Timberline Pit, File No. M- 1977 -184
Operator: City of Fort Collins, (970) 221 -6600
Sec. 17, Twp. 7 North, Rng. 68 West, 6th P.M., Larimer County
COMMENTS: The applicant has requested full reclamation responsibility release for the Timberline Pit. The
Timberline Pit was reclaimed to create unlined ponds with exposed ground water. The ponds are collectively
referred to as the Kingfisher Point Ponds. Approximately 40.64 acres of the 51.34 acres of surface area in the
Kingfisher Point Ponds were exposed prior to December 31, 1980 and do not require replacement. Evaporative
depletions from the remaining 10.7 acres of exposed ground water are replaced under a plan for augmentation
decreed in Division 1 Water Court case no. 2005CW262. So long as the augmentation plan is operated in
accordance with its decreed terms and conditions, this office has no objection to the request for full reclamation
responsibility release for the Timberline Pit.
REGEIVFr
MAR (1
Division of
Mining & a.
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303 - 866 -3581 • Fax: 303 - 866 -3589
www.water.state.co.us
