Scott, Eric
From: Scott, Eric
Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 8:17 AM
To: Lazuk, Raymond
Subject: TR -19 PDWTP prelim adequacy comments
Ray-
At first pass I only see a couple of comments on TR -19
Permitting of new water supplies /wells as previously mentioned (Section 3.1)
Please add permit boundary to figures 2 and 3
- What role (if any) would this system play in a "design storm event" and is the system/ "Event Pond" sized or
designed to meet the design storm event criteria as required by 7.3.1(3)? Please include (Section 2.5 ?)
- Please provide some statement as to how Climax will satisfy section 7.3.2(2) of the rule. (Section 2.9)
What kind of leak detection /monitoring /containment is being used on the supply and return lines to and from the
plant to the Mayflower TSF (Section 2.6.2)
- I don't see any reason at this time that DRMS couldn't include the wetlands mitigation project in the existing bond
- especially considering the proposed timeframe for completion. Do you need any "specific" language from me to
satisfy COE or do we just need to approve the TR with the mitigation plan included as it is?
That's pretty much it for now I think... I can follow up with the "official letter" pretty soon.
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman St Rm 215
Denver CO 80203
Ph 303 - 866 -3567 x8140
Fax 303 - 832 -8106
1
