Colowyo Coal Company <br />2011 Annual Reclamation and Hydrology Report <br />SECTION 8 - REGRADED OVERBURDEN SAMPLING <br />RULE REQUIREMENT <br />Sampling of regraded overburden is performed at a density of one sample per five <br />acres of regraded area (PAP Exhibit 6, Item #4, Colowyo letter of January 4, 1983). <br />Colowyo recognizes the potential for elevated SAR values (PAP page 2.04.6 -9). <br />Threshold SAR values for special handling are identified as "suspect levels ". The SAR <br />" suspect level" at Colowyo is 15 (PAP, Exhibit 6, Item #4, Colowyo letter of January <br />4, 1983). Remedial measures consist of additional samples to determine the extent of <br />the suspect material (PAP, Exhibit 6, Item #4, Colowyo letter of January 4, 1983). If <br />the aerial extent is greater than one acre, it is to be covered with at least five feet of <br />acceptable material. See Figure 8 -1 for permit commitment documentation. <br />GENERAL DISCUSSION <br />2011 Sampling and Laboratory Analysis - Colowyo sampled 44 locations of regraded <br />overburden during 2011 (See Figure 8 -3 for location of tracking sheet).
