5.3.2 Mine Life Extension 2
MLE2 does not propose to construct any new or expand any existing facilities in the Gold
Run drainage. The EMPs will continue in MLE2. The disturbance limits and the
proposed facilities for MLE2 across the Cresson Project are shown on Figure2 -2.
MLE2 will not impact any of the existing monitor stations in the Gold Run drainage.
5.3.3 Surface Water
5.3.3.1 Monitoring Program
There are no surface water resources in the Gold Run drainage.
5.3.3.2 Data
There are no surface water data for the Gold Run drainage.
5.3.3.3 Discussion
There are no surface water resources the Gold Run drainage.
5.3.4 Ground Water
5.3.4.1 Monitoring Program
Ground water conditions in Gold Run are assessed by three monitor wells (Figure 2 -2).
The monitor wells are designated GRMW -1A, GRMW -2A, and GRMW -3A. All three
wells are completed in the granites adjacent to the Diatreme.
Field parameters and water quality samples were collected periodically at GRMW -1A,
GRMW -2A, and GRMW -3A through 2001, 2004, and 2001, respectively. One sample
event was conducted in 2011 to update ground water quality conditions. The water
samples were analyzed for the parameters listed in Table 3 -2.
Pressure transducers were installed in GRMW -1A, GRMW -2A, and GRMW -3A in July
of 2011 to more frequently (4x/day) monitor the water level. The data are periodically
downloaded and compiled.
5.3.4.2 Data
The period of record and compiled field and water quality data (number of
measurements, less than detection events, maximum value, minimum value, average
value, standard deviation, and median value) for GRMW -1A, GRMW -2A, and GRMW-
3A are provided in Tables 5 -9, 5 -10, and 5 -11, respectively. Figure 5 -6 shows the water
'Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Hydrologic Evaluation for Mine Life Extension 2
21
