The ground water levels and water quality conditions in the Bateman Creek drainage will
continue to be monitored by WCMW -2, WCMW -3, and WCMW -6.
Vindicator Valley
4.2.1 Current Conditions
The Vindicator Valley drainage and MLE permit boundary are shown on Figure 2 -1.
Vindicator Valley is a south oriented dry drainage. Vindicator Valley has a confluence
with the North Fork of Wilson Creek where Teller County Road 81 passes through the
area. The North Fork of Wilson Creek is a south - southwest flowing drainage (through
the unincorporated Town of Goldfield).
MLE disturbance in Vindicator valley consists of the east wall of the Main Cresson Mine
area and the south wall of the East Cresson Mine Extension. Development of these
surface mines will continue through 2016 under Amendment No. 8, MLE, and the East
Cresson Mine Extension approvals. The limits of these mine components are shown on
Figure 2 -1. The existing EMPs that collect and dissipate storm water runoff are shown
on Figure 2 -1.
Vindicator Valley is within the Diatreme as is shown on Figure 2 -2.
4.2.2 Mine Life Extension 2
MLE2 does not propose to construct any new or expand any existing facilities in the
Vindicator Valley drainage. The EMPs will continue in MLE2. The disturbance limits
and the proposed facilities for MLE2 across the Cresson Project are shown on Figure 2 -2.
MLE2 will not impact any of the existing ground water monitor stations in the Vindicator
Valley drainage.
4.2.3 Surface Water
4.2.3.1 Monitoring Program
There are no surface water resources in Vindicator Valley. Three surface water monitor
stations are sited in the North Fork of Wilson Creek (Theresa Gulch). These sample
stations are discussed in the Wilson Creek section. The Wilson Creek sample stations are
shown on Figure 2 -2.
4.2.3.2 Data
There are no surface water data for Vindicator Valley.
'Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Hydrologic Evaluation for Mine Life Extension 2
11
