Snowcap Coal Company, P.O. Box 1430, Palisade, CO, 81526, has submitted a complete <br />application for a permit revision to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety for its <br />Roadside North and South Portals, mining permit No. C -81 -041. The proposed revision <br />provides demonstration that sediment drainage control features at the North Portal, Cameo <br />Refuse Disposal Areas 1 and 2, and Cameo Borrow Areas 1 and 2 are no longer <br />necessary and seeks approval to change the final reclamation plan for Ponds 6,10,11,13 <br />and other drainage features located at the North Portal and Coal Canyon. The goal of this <br />revision is to gain approval from the Division to reclaim these drainage control features and <br />make changes to the final reclamation plans. <br />The Roadside mines are located approximately three miles northeast of Palisade, CO at <br />the Interstate 70, Cameo Exit No.46. The permit area is split east and west by the <br />Colorado River and 1 -70, and is encompassed within the following lands: <br />T10S, R98W., 6 P.M.: <br />T11 S, R98W., 6 P.M.: <br />T11S, R97W., 6 P.M.: <br />Public Notice <br />Sections 26, 27, 28, 34, 35 <br />Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13 <br />Section 7 <br />The location of these sections is contained within the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute <br />Cameo and Palisade Quadrangle maps. <br />A copy of the revision application is available for public inspection at the Mesa County <br />Clerk and Recorder's office, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, CO. Written comments, objections or <br />a request for an informal conference on the proposed permit revision may be submitted to <br />the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Denver or Grand Junction offices, and <br />must be received by the Division within 30 days after final publication of this notice.
