7) Change of the fuel and crusher supply access route from Carlton Security Access to a
new route from the Ironclad Security Access to the crusher area
8) Relocation of the Coblentz geology building to be rebuilt near the historic Ajax gallows
frame and relocation of the crusher maintenance facilities to an area near the secondary
crusher building
9) Incorporation of the Cameron Mine Permit (M- 1991 -134) into the Cresson Project Permit
(M- 1980 -244) and recalculation of the financial warranty for that area under the MLE
financial warranty
1.3 General Project Description — Cresson Mine Life Extension 2
As a result of the increases in gold ore reserves realized through ongoing exploration, CC &V is
proposing to extend mining slightly to the east and west of the Main Cresson Mine including a
portion of the South Cresson; extend mining to the north and northeast in the WHEX portion of
the East Cresson Mine and extend the North Cresson Mine slightly to the north in the Globe Hill
portion; and to the south in the Schist Island portion. Processing and recovery of the additional
gold will be supplemented with the construction of new High Grade Mill facilities for higher
grade ore, new SGVLF and new SGADR. Overburden resulting from mining in these extension
areas will be placed into other portions of the existing Main Cresson Mine, East Cresson Mine,
and North Cresson Mine as mine backfill, or placed for storage in the existing SGOSA, or
redesigned ECOSA. Figure 1 -1 shows flow of overburden and ore for the Cresson Project.
The proposed MLE2 will be implemented with approximately 150 more employees, which will
increase the approximate total employment at the Cresson Project to an anticipated 600
employees. The equipment fleet will increase modestly. Production rates are envisioned to
remain relatively the same as the currently permitted rate of about 27 million tons ( "MT ") of ore
material mined annually. Based on current production rates and other factors, the proposed
MLE2 activities are anticipated to increase the anticipated mine life of the Cresson Project from
approximately 2016 to about 2025 along with associated increases in the anticipated processing
and neutralization/reclamation timeframes.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
1 -3
