14.1.1 Evaluation of Project Components
MLE2 satisfies the DMO requirements by virtue of the proposed use of toxic chemicals
in gold recovery process. Such chemicals are presently in use at the Cresson Project
within the AGVLF and AGADR areas exclusively. The SGVLF and SGADR will use
the same chemicals and processes used in present operations. The High Grade Mill
facilities will use additional potentially toxic chemicals in the extractive metallurgical
processing. These include flotation reagents and sodium cyanide.
The chemicals in use and stored for use within the VLFs, ADRs, and High Grade Mill
facilities are listed on Table 14 -2, which includes information on the chemical use at the
site, typical storage volumes, and the ultimate fate of the chemical.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
14 -3
