CAM Colorado Loadout
#00489 -0002
01/06/12
Huddleston -Berry
.1, Fan,anam; 6 Te +tinP., I 1
Where the native soils are unable to meet the Hydraulic Conductivity
specification of 1X10-7 cm /sec, the native soils are proposed to be amended
with bentonite. Huddleston -Berry will complete a mix design to establish the
percentage of bentonite required to be blended into the native soils in order to
meet the Hydraulic Conductivity specification. Subsequently, the full suite of
testing outlined in the above table will be completed on the blended material
to be used for the liner construction.
E. Construction Materials Testing
1) Construction materials testing will be conducted by qualified engineering
technicians under the direction of the Field Testing Services Manager
and /or Project Engineer.
2) Prior to liner construction, the subgrade will be evaluated to ensure that it
is free of unsuitable materials. In addition, HBET will observe proofrolling
of the subgrade to ensure subgrade stability in accordance with
referenced Solid Waste Guidance Document. Subsequent to proofrolling,
but prior to liner placement, HBET will verify that subgrade properly
scarified.
3) In accordance with the referenced Solid Waste Guidance Document,
materials testing during liner construction will be conducted as
summarized in the following tables :
TABLE 2
Pond #1
Liner Volume <1,000 yd
Testing
Test Method
Required
Required # of
Frequency per
Tests for
Guidance
Compliance
Document
Water Content (Nuke
ASTM D6938
4 per acre per lift
8
Gauge)
Water Content (oven
ASTM D2216
1 per 2.5 acres
1
dried)
Density (Nuke Gauge)
ASTM D6938
4 per acre per lift
8
Density (Laboratory)
ASTM D1587
1 per 2.5 acres
1
Atterberg Limits
ASTM D4318
1 per 1,000 yd
1
Exhibit 20 4
