The purposes of <br />the study were to identify and record all cultural resources within the block survey area, to <br />assess their significance and eligibility to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), <br />and to make management recommendations for those sites found to be eligible or potentially <br />eligible. The presence of cultural resources was considered likely because of the previously <br />recorded sites in the area surrounding the project. <br />Field Methods <br />The project area includes 197 acres of private land that was subjected to an intensive <br />(Class III) inventory. The intensive survey of the discrete block was conducted by a crew of <br />three members walking transects spaced at 20 meter intervals. Crew members worked from <br />ON <br />
