Proper installation of sediment <br />controls, as stated in the plan of operations, suggests that sedimentation from the <br />drilling operations will not likely enter the stream. To further ensure that wetland - <br />related impacts are minimized, Best Management Practices are incorporated. <br />Water releasing activities will only be permitted in accordance with the Forest <br />Service and State of Colorado guidelines. <br />3. Congressionally Designated Areas: <br />Wilderness Areas: The nearest wilderness area, Sangre de Cristo Wilderness <br />Area, is approximately 18 miles east of the project area. Impacts of this <br />project will remain in the immediate area of activity and will not affect the <br />Sangre de Cristo Wilderness Area. <br />Wilderness Study Areas: The South Piney Wilderness Study Area is <br />approximately 20 miles east of the project area. This decision will not <br />affect Wilderness Study Areas. <br />National Recreation Areas: There are no National Recreation Areas on the <br />Forest. This decision will not affect National Recreation Areas. <br />4. Inventoried Roadless Areas (IRA): <br />The Ute Pass IRA is approximately 3 miles southeast of the project area. This <br />decision will not affect any Inventoried Roadless Areas. <br />5. Research Natural Areas (RNA): <br />The Mill Creek RNA is located approximately 27 miles southeast of the project <br />area. The project will not affect the RNA <br />6. American Indians and Alaska Native religious or cultural sites: <br />This project will not have any effects on known Native American religious or <br />cultural sites. <br />7.
