4. Construct roads and other disturbed sites to minimize sediment discharge into
streams by designing roads and other soil disturbances to the minimum standard
for their use.
5. Stabilize and maintain roads and other disturbed sites during and after
construction, to control erosion by revegetating cuts and fills upon final shaping,
to restore ground cover and control sediment until erosion control is permanent.
6. Reclaim roads and other disturbed sites when use ends, as needed, to prevent
resource damage.
A financial warranty (reclamation bond) must be provided and approved by the Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (CODRMS) and the Forest Service prior to
entering the project area for exploration construction. The bond will not be released until
reclamation is determined to be successful and revegetation has met the LRMP standards.
In addition, the operator must comply with all federal, state, and county laws and
permitting requirements.
Implementation Date: Spring 2012
Appeal:
This decision is not subject to appeal pursuant to 36 CFR 215.8(a), Item 4
Contact Person(s):
Nicolas Sandoval — Geologist,
Rio Grande National Forest,
1803 W.
