Cazier, Tim
From: Carter, Stephanie S [sscarterCâ–º : goy] /j L. /f1
Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2012 9:05
To: Cazier, Tim 9J'/Yt$
Subject: Mica White, M- 1992 -058
Categories: Construction Materials
Tim,
I received the information you recently sent me regarding Mica White's conversion application. I thought I would
provide my input to this via email, then issuing a letter.
Based on previous discussions with Colorado Quarries and DRMS, we have no objections to the concept of their
proposal. However, please consider that the following items still need to be finalized prior to moving forward with the
approval of this request:
1. The Environmental Assessment being prepared by the BLM for the staging area is not finalized. We are currently
waiting for Colorado Quarries to submit a Stormwater Mgm't Plan, as required by CDPHE's general stormwater
discharge permit for Sand and Gravel Mining and Processing (COR340000). Once this is received and analyzed,
we will be able to complete the assessment process. A decision will need to be issued by BLM to serve as a right
of entry into the proposed staging area location for Colorado Quarries.
2. Per the MOU between DRMS and BLM, we will need to coordinate on the bond evaluation to accommodate this
proposed expansion in operations. The bond amount required will need to be finalized with BLM's input and the
existing one amended by Colorado Quarries, prior to these proposed operations being initiated.
Thanks Tim!
Stephanie S.
