OBSERVATIONS
PERMIT #: M -1984 -028
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: SJR
INSPECTION DATE: February 22, 2012
This was a normal monitoring inspection of the DiRezza Pit; DRMS File No. M- 1984 -028, operated DiRezza
Limited Family Partnership. This site is located 7.5 miles northwest of Las Animas, Colorado, in Bent County.
I, Stephanie Reigh of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety conducted the inspection. Ms.
Katrena DiRezza of DiRezza Limited Family Partnership accompanied me on the inspection.
This is a 110c mining operation with a 9.5 acre permit area. The Operator began the operation on the south
side of the site and has excavated to the north. The pit seems a little disorganized with small piles of material
throughout the permit area. The Operator should be reminded that the sites are required to be reclaimed
within 5 years of the completion of mining (per CRS 34- 32.5- 116(4)(q)). The permit identification sign and the
permit boundary markers were adequate.
The topsoil stock pile appears to be stable and vegetated in addition to some annual weeds. There was no
equipment at the site. Pulled Tamarisk piles were present at the site, although there was a few other living
Tamarisk on the site.
All other activities and completed work at the time of inspection appeared to follow the guidelines and
regulations set forth by the state and in the mining and reclamation plans for the pit.
