Exhibit 19(18)
Fourteen New Culverts - TR -60
Three West of Development Waste Disposal Area C14A, C70 & C71
Three Culverts South of Truck Scales C72, C73 & C74 in Ditch D15
Four Culverts north of industrial building C1 6A, B, C & D in Ditch D16
One Culvert south of preparation plant C12A in Ditch 23
Two Culverts west of preparation plant C1 7A & C17 B in Ditch D22
New Culvert C28A
Resize Culverts C28 & C29
Check Size of Single C8 Culvert
Notes for Calculations:
1. Culvert C70 is located down gradient of the refuse disposal area. The refuse
disposal area sediment pond contains the run off from most of the drainage area
above this culvert.
2. The drainage area between the refuse disposal area sediment pond
embankment and culvert C70 is approximately 2.1 acres.
3. A curve number of 94 was used for this drainage area.
4. The following SEDCAD calculations show that culvert C70 will see a peak flow of
4.30 cfs and will need to be 18 inches in diameter. (Pages 2 - 7)
%5.! Culvert C14A is immediately downstream of culvert C14. Therefore culvert
g
C14A will be sized the same as culvert C14. The peak flow is 44.4 cfs. Culvert
C14 is 36 inches in diameter (Table 21). Calculations confirming the diameter of
C14A are shown on page 8.
6. Culvert C71 is immediately upstream of containment area no. 4. The
calculations for sizing containment no. 4 show a 10 -year event of 1.03 cfs and a
25 year event of 1.29 cfs (Exhibit 19). A 12 -inch diameter culvert is suitable at
this location. Calculations confirming the diameter of C71 are shown on page 9.
7. 24 " Diameter culverts C72, C73 and C74 are all located in Ditch D15. Ditch D15
has a flow of 8.75 cfs (Table 20). Culvert design for C72, C73 and C74 are
shown on Page 10.
8. 24" Diameter culverts C1 6A, C1 6B, 16C & 16D are located in Ditch 16 which has
a flow of 11.35 cfs (Table 20). The design flow for culvert 16 shown in Table 21
is 11.96. Therefore culverts C1 6A, C1 6B, 16C & 16C will be designed for the
higher flow. Culvert design for C1 6A, C1 6B, 16C & 16D are shown on Page 11.
9. Culvert 12A is located in ditch D23 which has a flow of 47.2 cfs (Table 20).
Culvert design for C12A is shown on page 12.
10. Culverts 17A and 17B are located in ditch D22 which has a flow of 21.51 cfs
(Table 20). The design flow for culvert 17 shown in Table 21 is 26.7. Therefore
culverts C17A and C17B will be designed for the higher flow. Culvert designs
for C1 7A and C1 7B are shown on page 13.
11. Culverts 28, 29 and new culvert 28A are optional culverts located in ditch D12.
Ditch D12 has a flow of 8.75 cfs (Table 20). Culvert designs C28, C28A and C29
are shown on page 14.
TR -60 Page EXH. 19(18) -1 12/30/11
