After a review of the report, the Division has the following two
comments:
1. In the Buckhom Geotech Daily Compaction Report dated 10/5/2011, test number 547A had a Max Dry
Density of 97.5 pcf and a dry density of 90.6 pcf. This equates to 92.9% compaction but the report lists it as
90.6% compaction. Please explain this discrepancy.
2. In the December 30, 2011 letter of the 4 Quarter Inspection Report, Buckhorn Geotech recommends that
the vibrating wire piezometers be repaired or replaced prior to the next quarterly inspection. What action is
being taken to repair or replace the damaged piezometers prior to the next quarterly inspections to maintain
continuity of measurements?
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
Brock Bowles
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: William Bear, Bowie Resources, LLC.
Mined Land Reclamation
STATE OF COLORADO
COLORADO
D I V I S I O N O F
RECLAMATION
MINING
— &—
SAFETY
John W Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E Pineda
Director
Office of Office of
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
