There is one nesting territory consisting of five (5) nests. The territory has been monitored annually <br />• since 1996, and breeding activity has been documented every year except 1998 and 1999. The <br />continued occupation of the territories suggests that the eagles have not been substantially affected by <br />activities at the Seneca II-W Mine. Results of the annual surveys are contained in the Annual <br />Reclamations reports submitted every March for the II-W Mine. <br />Since there is no active mining or blasting and limited human activities on the reclamation areas, there <br />is no longer any need for wildlife monitoring. Beginning in 2009, SCC will discontinue wildlife <br />monitoring at the Seneca II-W Mine. <br />• <br />• <br />TR-64 5 Revised 6/09
