COMMENTS
The weather was cold with light snow, and the ground was partially covered with snow.
This partial inspection was conducted by Rob Zuber of DRMS. Brian Watterson of Peabody accompanied the
inspection.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
No problems were observed with fugitive dust.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05:
Due to the cold weather(below freezing),no snow melt runoff was observed during the inspection.
Two NPDES points were inspected: the 5D dewatering system(NPDES point 003) and site I SP(NPDES point
022). Both were discharging, and the water flowing from them was clear with no signs of pollutants.
GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE:
The mine was found to be in general compliance with the permit.
ROADS —Rule 4.03:
No problems were observed with roads or culverts.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15, Rule 3:
The refuse pile was inspected and no sign of gullies,large bare spots, or other problems was observed.
SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04:
No problems were observed at the 5A portal.
