The Division does not have an official recommendation for your Permit sign verbiage.
However, Rule 3.1.12 states:
(1) At the entrance of the mine site the Operator shall post a sign, which shall be clearly
visible from the access road, with the following:
(a) the name of the Operator;
(b) a statement that a reclamation permit for the operation has been issued by the Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Board; and
(c) the permit number.
Based on 3.1.12(1) I recommend placing your sign at the gate off Highway 96 (if the landowner
will allow it).
The attached file is my recommendation for how the sign might read. I've seen this on a few
signs that I would consider a good example of what the sign should say in a concise manner.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
By the way, I forgot to ask for the spelling of Tom's last name for my inspection report. Is
it "Newman "?
Tim Cazier, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO 80203
ph: 303 - 866 -3567 x8169
fax: 303 - 832 -8106
tim.cazierPstate.co.us
[attachment "RECLAMATION PERMIT SIGN.pdf" deleted by Joe Lamanna /USA /Holcim]
2
