MWCA, Inc.
Date: February 8, 2012
Reference: Permit # M- 1977 -227
Subject: Mesita Hill Pit Annual Report for 2011
The only activity conducted at Mesita Hill in 2011 was monitoring of the
success of vegetation growth from the revegetation conducted in November
2008 after completion of the 2008 reclamation activities. As of the end of
2008, the site had been contoured, smaller pits filled and larger pits
contoured to allow use for livestock grazing. The available growth material
was spread out as much as possible. Recontouring was also completed
outside of the permit boundary, if possible without disturbing mature
vegetation. The site was visited once on May 6, 2011 and on July 28, 2011
to monitor vegetation success. Bob Oswald was present during the second
visit. See attached Bamberg Ecological report dated August 4, 2011. This
report noted some basal leaf sprouting of Canada thistle. This area, located
near the concrete pad, was subsequently on August 8 with Milestone.
No new disturbances or reclamation have occurred during 2011, thus the
map submitted with the 2008 report dated February 5, 2009 is unchanged.
Paul L.
