February 8, 2012 C- 2009 - 087 /Peabody Sage Creek Mine JDM <br />Electrical Substation Installation <br />Portal Area <br />OTHER (SPECIFY): <br />This was a partial coal inspection conducted by Jason Musick of CDRMS. Scott Cowman and Jen Hunt of <br />Peabody Energy accompanied the inspection. The weather was cloudy and the site was wet and snow covered <br />during the inspection. Activities at the site are confined to the North Facilities Area with activities in the South <br />Facilities Area idle. <br />The following topics were discussed during the partial inspection of the site: <br />- A future meeting with DRMS personnel was discussed to address a possible future Permit Revision of the <br />Peabody Sage Creek permit to extend the permit boundary to include lands currently approved within the Foidel <br />Creek Mine permit encompassing the 18LT vent shaft. <br />- The status of the Peabody Sage Creek Phase II bond release, SL -1. Currently under vegetation sampling review <br />with ESCO, the operators consultant. <br />- The possibility of a future TR to terminate the commitment of wildlife monitoring. <br />- A future TR to extend the current disturbance boundary to include a portion of land currently under Phase II <br />application. <br />- Future revisions to address as -built designs and changes to approved ditch and culvert designs. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />All signs and markers were in place and in compliance with the exception of the following: <br />- topsoil markers will need to be installed at the lone topsoil stockpile location. <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 9 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
