CERTIFIED MAIL <br />RETURN RECEIPT NO. 7010 0780 0001 2876 1079 <br />January 30, 2012 <br />Mr. Jim Dupler <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: Permit No. M -1989 -029 — Longmont Distel Operations - 1 12c Annual Report <br />Dear Jim: <br />Enclosed is Check No. 543924 in the amount of $791.00 for the annual fee for the above - <br />referenced permit, together with the Annual Report form and a map labeled to discuss <br />disturbances to affected land and reclamation activity as of permit year ended December 7, 2011, <br />and projections for activity in the current year. <br />Extraction activity was completed in the Longmont Landfill parcel at the east end of the site <br />during 2011. As noted in prior annual reports, mining is completed in the parcels labeled <br />Peschel, Sherwood, Bigelow and Distel. Processing and sales activities will continue on the <br />Distel operations area throughout 2012 and future mining of material from an adjacent operation <br />under Permit No. M -1994 -027 (Longmont Operation aka Tull Farm). <br />During 2011, all remaining perimeters of the Longmont Landfill parcel were backfilled /sloped. <br />With the exception of a pond in the northeast area of this parcel and a remaining approximate 22 <br />acre excavation west of the pond, backfilling and grading of this parcel is also completed. The <br />pond will remain as a reclaimed feature of the site and the remaining excavated area will be <br />backfilled /loaded with silt fines as processing activity continues on the Distel parcel. Backfilling <br />and grading along the southern boundary of the Bigelow parcel commenced in 2011 and will <br />continue in 2012. As noted in prior annual reports, reclamation of the Peschel, and portions of <br />the Sherwood and Bigelow parcels was completed in 2009. Approximately 15 acres on the <br />Peschel /Sherwood parcels was re- seeded in 2011.
