Aerial photographs were taken on January 30, 2012 at approximately
2:45 p.m. Mike Boulay of the DRMS reviewed the aerial photographs. Weather conditions appear to be clear
and sunny at the time of the flight. Seven photographs were taken during the flyover. The South Portals area, and
the CRDA waste disposal sites (CRDA -1 and CRDA -2) are the only portions of the mine site that are visible in the
photographs. The site was partially snow covered. There was no activity discernible in the photographs.
SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04:
The CRDA waste disposal sites are shown in Photograph No. l attached to this inspection report. The South
Portals area including the Roadside South Refuse Disposal Area is shown in attached Photograph No. 2. The
location of former Pond 8 (recently reclaimed) can be seen in Photo No. 1. All three refuse disposal areas are
stable and appear to be very well maintained.
The mine site roads visible in the photographs adjacent to Coal Creek are clear of snow cover and appear to be in
good condition. The road up to the shop and warehouse at the South Portal was in good condition. There was no
activity at the South Portal as the fruit stand and warehouse remain closed for business at this time. The facilities
areas and perimeter locations visible in the photographs were all very well maintained and appeared to be in good
condition.
All site locations appeared stable and no significant erosion or other problems were identified with this aerial
inspection.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2
Page 2 of 5
