October 10, 2002
Mr. Steve Shuey
Division of Minerals and Geology
101 South 3rd Street Suite 301
Grand Junction Colorado 81501
RE: Importing Backfill, Neal Pit, Permit M -1983 -148
Dear Mr. Shuey,
The following is in response to importing backfill material, pursuant to rule 3.1.5.(9).
The imported material at Neal pit is being placed to the north half of the pit to level
the pit floor and improve the rooting zone for future rangeland/pasture revegetation.
The material is spread to a depth varying from one to two feet. The approximate
volume of inert material is to be 3,000 yards to 9,000 yards and is an on going
activity. The imported material is left over from past ditch construction.
This is to certify that to the best of my knowledge the imported backfill material that
is being hauled into the Neal Pit (M- 1983 -148) consists of clean inert backfill, free of
contaminants.
y,
nan Wilson, P.E.
County Engineer
Road Supervisor
MONTROSE COUNTY
C0L1)R
ENGINEERING
P.O.
