Box 187
Craig, Colorado 81626
RE: Trapper Mining Inc., DMRS Permit No. C- 1981 -010
Review of Third Quarter 2011 Discharge Monitoring Reports
For CDPHE Permit No. CO- 0032115
Dear Mr. Roberts,
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has reviewed and found the above referenced report
to be in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2). The Discharge Monitoring Reports were received by the Division on October
'11,2011. The report covers the time period from July 1, 2011 through September 30, 2011.
Six NPDES outfalls discharged during the third quarter of 2011. Outfalls 001 (Johnson), 002 (No Name), 011 (East
Pyeatt), 020 (Middle Flume), and 022 (Deal) discharged throughout the quarter.
The report indicates that no exceedances of the primary effluent limitations occurred during the third quarter. However,
due to an error at the lab, Total Iron data was not calculated for the samples taken on July 5, 2011. Total Iron values were
not represented on the DMR's for NPDES points 002, 011, 020, 022 and 024. According to your report, each outfall
exhibited extremely low TSS values for the month of July, and traditionally low TSS result in low Total Iron values.
Given this, it is likely no exceedances of Total Iron occurred at any outfall for July.
The report indicates outfalls 011 and 020 were sampled for WET analyses during the quarter. No exceedances of WET
test limitations were reported at the tested outfalls.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (303) 866- ext. 8120.
Sincerely,
?" c4'
Jared Ebert, DRMS
Environmental Protection Specialist, DRMS
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
