I ~ Small Area Exemption Demonstration
HG Shallow Well No. 1
The following SEDCAD demonstration documents that the HG Shallow Well No. 1,
and the initial 1,000 feet of the associated water pipeline, meet the
intention of Rule 4.05.2(3).
Peak runoff and sediment calculations were estimated using the SEDCAD 9
computer model. The analysis was conducted using the 10-year, 24-hour storm
event (1.7 inches).
Hydrology Inputs
The area calculation is based on a 15 foot wide by 1,000 foot long
disturbance corridor.
The time of concentration inputs were digitized from Exhibit 12-1.
The curve number (CN) value was calculated based on the following conditions.
• Soil Type - Apmay Manbow Complex, 0 - 3~ Slope (from Exhibit 9-1)
• Hydrologic Soil Group - D (from Routt County Soil Survey)
• Cover Type - Meadow-continuous grass, protected from grazing and
generally mowed for hay
• CN = 78
Sedimentology Inputs
• K factor: 0.24 (from Routt County Soil Survey)
• Average slope: 3.08
• Average length: 15 feet
• C: 0.042 (no canopy, 608 ground cover)
• P: 0.65 (moderate roughness)
Hydrology Results
• Peak discharge:
0.13 cfs
Sedimentology Results
• Peak sediment concentration: 687 mg/1
• Peak settleable concentration: 0.27 ml/1
TR-07 12-2.32 Revised 03/06
