New Elk Coal Company
Permit C- 1981 -012
Three Slurry Wells
MR -95 provides for the drilling of three fine slurry return wells. The wells will penetrate
old abandoned workings in the Allen Seam. Refuse fines will be recovered from the bottom of
the thickener and pumped in a six inch diameter poly -pipe to one of the return slurry wells. The
slurry will flow down through the return wells into the abandoned workings and disperse.
Return water will be recovered by a pump located north of the preparation plant and piped to the
plant for reuse. The location of the wells are shown on Map 11, Sheet 3 New Elk Mine Site
Plan, East Portal Facilities.
This document incorporates the DRMS reclamation estimate to seal the three 450 foot
deep slurry wells. The following pages detail the cost estimate. In summary, the estimate is:
COST SUMMARY
Tack description: Summary of TR -95 Tasks
Site: New Elk Mine Permit Action: MR95 Permit/Job #: C 1981012
PROJECT IDENTIFICATION
Task #: 95A State: Colorado Abbreviation: None
Date: 9/8/2011 County: Las Animas Filename: C012 -95a
User: JDM
Agency or organization name: DBMS
TASK LIST (DIRECT COSTS)
Task
Description
Form
Used
Fleet
Size
Task
Hours
Cost
95b
I Seal and Abondon Three Refuse Slurry Wells
BOREHOLE
1 1
12.00
$9,114.35
SUBTOTALS:
12
S$9.114.35
INDIRECT COSTS
OVERHEAD AND PROFIT:
Liability insurance: 2.02
Total =
$184.11
Performance bond: 1.05
Total =
$95.70
Job superintendent: 6.00
Total =
$351.36
Profit: 10.00
Total =
$91 1.44
TOTAL O & P =
$1,542.61
CONTRACT AMOUNT (direct + O & P) =
S 10,656.96
LEGAL - ENGINEERING - PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Financial warranty processing (legaltrelated costs): 0.00
Total =
0.00
Engineering work and/or contract/bid preparation: 4.25
Total =
$452.92
Reclamation management and/or administration: 5.00
$532.85
CONTINGENCY: 0.00
Total =
$0.00
TOTAL INDIRECT COST =
$2,528.38
TOTAL BOND AMOUNT (direct + indirect) =
$11,642.73
MR -95 Exhibit 28- Page 189 Revised 09/29/11
