". ` MAYBELL ENTERPRISES , INC.
1 E ' P.O. Box 115
'° Maybell, Colorado 81640
(970) 272 -3000
Fax (970) 272 -3502
DEC 2 9 2011
GRAND Lit , u OFFICE
/
Dustin Czapla:
First of all, I would like to apologize for not being present during your inspection. Many
of your concerns could have been addressed immediately.
We have cleaned the trash, which included some old belts, a few empty buckets, and an
air filter, out of the pit located at GPS coordinates:40.47603- 108.03818. The belt was
given to a local rancher, and the trash was taken to our dumpster. The fuel and equipment
storage area south of the active mine, was cleaned. Their were two barrels of oil that
belonged in the oil containment structure, that were put back in, and the plug for that unit
was retrieved, and put in it's proper place. The soil was cleaned up and put with other
contaminated soil, and hauled to a disposal facility in Vernal Utah. The 10,000 gallon
fuel tank is empty and not being used. Fuel is stored in a mobile truck. The drill has since
been repaired, and all contaminated soil has been hauled to said disposal.
The thistle in the reclaimed area will be sprayed in the spring by the Moffat County weed
management department. I can get you documentation at that time. The various piles of
scrap metal that you observed during your inspection will be hauled to a recycle facility
in Pueblo as soon as we have a full load. Documentation for this will be available at that
time.
The two oil barrels in the other pit were disposed of properly, and any other problems we
could find, were taken care of also.
Once again, I apologize for the appearance of our mine. That is definitely not the way we
usually keep it. If you have any question please feel free to call me at 970 - 272 -3000.
Bret Steele
President
Maybell Enterprises Incorporated
1 -.2 9 - I
Date: 024-7769
ex .
A ME : I0q)PCI 1°-4 Is 3
M - ‘4-A`AC
RECEIVED
JAN U6 O12
Division of Reclamation
Mining & Safety
