The 2011 Annual Hydrology Report is not submitted to the Division until the spring of 2012.
Please remember, the entire purpose of the meeting is to go over the questions you asked me regarding TR39 and the
other vegetation related question you asked up through September 2011. Our Hydrologist is out of the office until next
week. If you have questions regarding the hydrology, we will address those at another time.
Kent Gorham is unavailable to attend the January 9, 2012 meeting.
Could you please provide photos of the gullies you mentioned? Or place their location on a map? If you recall, when I
met with you on the site on August 4, 2011, you were unable to show me the location of any gullies on the Vento
property. I have walked the Coal Refuse Disposal Area (RDA) during the fall 2011 and have not found the referenced
gullies.
J a mt 1 g wws
Environmental Protection Specialist II
Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety
phone: (303) 866 -3567 ext. 8107
fax: (303) 832 -8106
From: Linda Saunders f mailto:saunders615Clive.coml
Sent: Wednesday, December 28, 2011 3:17 PM
To: Binns, Janet
Subject: Request for information-
Hi Janet,
Thank you for the information on the 2010 Plant Inventory and clarifying the mislabeled data.
Besides the revegetation standards we would like to duscuss the hydrology reports.
I will also need the 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 Hydrology reports emailed to me and the rest of the Vento's before the
meeting.
I would like to have Kent clarify what "confusion regarding sampling constituents and please ensure that all future
sampling is in exact accordance with the approved plan" means from the 2008 Report and what has been done to
mitigate the high Iron and Manganese levels that do not meet Secondary Drinking Standards.
It may help if Kent and the Division's water expert be at the meeting to discuss what will be done in the future.
The gullies need to be filled or corrected to not allow any more soil erosion.
Thank you for your help.
Linda
