111593 -2 <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety proposes to Approve Permit Renewal Applica- <br />tion No. 6 (RN -6), submitted by Chevron Mining, Inc <br />for a coal mining permit at the Edna Stnp Mine <br />(Permit No. C -1980 -001). The proposed renewal will <br />allow for continued mining and /or reclamation opera- <br />tions at the site. <br />The Edna Strip Mine is located in Routt County, ap- <br />proximately 5 miles northwest of Oak Creek, Colo- <br />rado, Colorado. Coal interest at this Surface mine is <br />Federal, and the surface to be affected is Federal, <br />state and pnvate land. The permit area encom- <br />passes approximately 3,257 30 acres. <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding that the <br />proposed operation will comply with at requirements <br />of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation <br />Act, Section 34 33 101 et seq., C.R.S., and the regu- <br />'Iations promulgated thereunder. <br />'A copy of the "Proposed Decision and Findings of <br />, ", including any stipulations, is on file for <br />public inspection at the Colorado Division of Recta - <br />-nation, Mining and Safety, Room 215 Centennial <br />Building, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado <br />,80203, and at the Routt County Clerk's Office, P.O <br />Box 773598, Steamboat Spnngs, CO 80477. Per- <br />sons with an interest that may be adversely affected <br />by the proposed decision may request a formal hear- <br />ing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board on the <br />proposed decision.
