h
Wildlife Hazing
With the exception of the two decomposed ducks reported to
your office and the Colorado Division of Wildlife on April 9,
1992, no other mortalities have been known to occur. BMR
initiated a hazing program as soon as the pond began to thaw.
The program, which consists of air cannons and guarding of the
pond by BMR personnel equipped with shotguns using blanks, has
been effective. Colorado Division of Wildlife personnel have
inspected the hazing program and indicated their general
concurrence with the procedures.
The data fully supports the conclusion that the process
solution has been totally contained within the lined tailings
facility and there has been no release to the environment. BMR
will continue its monitoring program and cooperate with your
office in the review of data generated in the course of ongoing
operations.
Please call if you have any questions.
Regards,
Matt R.
