r-
BATTLE MOUNTAIN RESOURCES INC.
P.O. BOX 310
SAN LUIS , COLORADO 81152
JUNE 7 , 1993
In March of 1993 , BMRI began the process of setting up a Citizens
Advisory panel . All governmental or quasi-governmental entities
were asked to participate . Also , all groups that have indicated
a concern about Battle Mountain' s presence in the community, were
contacted and asked to take part .
The primary objective(currently) is to "minimize polarization
within the communities and foster responsible and accurate
informational exchanges" .
The primary objective( long term) is to answer the question "What
is there(economically) for Costilla County after the mining
function ceases ? Can we wait until six months or even a year ,
before termination, to start moving on this issue?
In keeping with it ' s Mission Statement . "apply our resources to
the fundamental obligations that we have to our shareholders,
employees, communities and the environment while captalizing upon
opportunities in the Western Hemisphere and the Western
Pacific" ,BMRI feels , and is totally supportive of having a well
planned replacement program for it ' s employees to move into, after
the ore body is exhausted. Not as BMRI , but as an independent
economic unit that will take off on it ' s own. Battle Mountain
Gold' s Core Values (see attached) , definitely come into play in this
instance .
Critics of the operation have refused the invitation to participate
in this effort to communicate sincerely and truthfully, but the
show must go on !
attached is a roster of the individuals that constitute the panel .
ALFREDO CHAVEZ
