the drill hole sites.
o During wet weather conditions, no mud blading is allowed. When road conditions are
such that vehicles create ruts deeper than 4 inches, drilling and vehicle activities will be
temporarily suspended.
o To protect adjacent undisturbed native vegetation, all activities will stay confined to
existing disturbed areas as much as possible and reclamation/ reseeding of disturbances
shall occur concurrently with backfilling of drill holes. Exception - if holes were drilled
in the middle of existing access road, backfilling and re- compaction of surface consisting
of the road will be sufficient.
o Any cleared trees will be stockpiled for use during reclamation.
o It is recommended that no drilling activity occur during the big game and crucial habitat
time period from December 1 to April 15.
o BLM concurs with the CDRMS that the present bonding amount is adequate and no
additional bonding instrument is required. Operations may begin at your convenience.
Your notice is complete; the operation will not cause unnecessary or undue degradation to the
public lands and it contains all the information required by BLM surface management
regulations at 43 CFR 3809.301. Your notice remains in effect for two (2) years from the date of
this letter, unless extended under 43 CFR 3809.333 or unless you notify BLM beforehand that
operations have ceased and reclamation is complete. BLM will conduct an inspection to verify
whether reclamation has been completed before recommending bond release to the CDRMS. On
or before the expiration date, the Field Manager must be given written notice if you intend to
continue operations under the terms of the existing notice for an additional two (2) years.
Please call Robert Ernst at (970) 240 -5305 if you have questions. Thank you for your
cooperation.
cc: Bob Oswald, CDRMS
Sincerely,
&I'vatt
Barbara Sharrow
Manager, Uncompahgre Field Office
