DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866 -3567
FAX: (303) 832 -8106
December 12, 2011
Jessie Von Feldt
Wells Fargo Bank
1740 Broadway, 1S Floor
Denver, CO 80274
CERTIFIED MAIL NO. 7005 3110 0002 7206 7283 Return Receipt Requested
Re: Camp Bird Colorado, Inc., Camp Bird Mine, Permit No. M- 1982 -090, Reason to Believe a
Violation Exists and Notice of Board Hearing.
Dear Jessie Von Feldt,
This cover letter is to explain the attached letter, "Camp Bird, Permit No. M- 1982 -090, Reason to Believe
a Violation Exists and Notice of Rescheduled Board Hearing," dated November 23, 2011. That letter was
originally mailed to Camp Bird Colorado, Inc., and a copy was also mailed to Wells Fargo Bank, on the
letter date. The copy to Wells Fargo Bank, however, was returned to us because Wells Fargo Bank's
address of record was not current.
The permit for the Camp Bird Mine may be in violation, as stated in the attached letter, and the matter is
scheduled to go to hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board. If the Board finds a violation, the
permit may be revoked and the financial warranty may be forfeited. This agency is required to notify
Wells Fargo Bank in the matter of the hearing because the financial warranty is in the form of a certificate
of deposit (CD) that is held through Wells Fargo Bank.
Please see the attached Notice for details regarding the statutes that are possibly in violation, the Board
hearing, and the financial warranty. If you have questions, I can be reached at the Division's Durango
Field Office: 691 CR 233, Room A -2, Durango, CO 81301; telephone 970 - 247 -5193. You may also
contact Barbara Coria, Financial Assurance Specialist for this agency, at the address found on the
letterhead, above. Her telephone is 303 - 866 -3567, extension 8148.
Sincerely,
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
STATE OF COLORADO
COLORADO
D I V I S I O N O F
RECLAMAT
MINING
— &—
SAF ETY
John W.
