November 29, 2011 C- 1981 - 022 /Elk Creek Mine BFB <br />SUBSIDENCE — Rule 4.20: <br />Pre - existing mass movement features in the vicinity of Sanborn Creek Mine were inspected for <br />subsidence. No significant new mass movement features were noted. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The II -West and West Valley refuse piles were viewed. There were no signs of erosion and appeared to <br />be stable. <br />The Coal Bank area was inspected. This area is located above the Sanborn Creek Mine workings. Several gob <br />vent bore holes are still in place and may be used to supply methane for future use. <br />The former Sanborn Creek fan site was inspected and appears to be stable with no signs of erosion. <br />The Elk Creek fan site and the methane drainage site was inspected. The area was clean and appears to be stable <br />with no signs of erosion. <br />Overall, main facilities area is well maintained, clean and easily accessible. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />Mine ID signs were in place at the main entrance by the train loadout and on the east side of the town of <br />Somerset along highway 133.
