DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866 -3567
FAX: (303) 832 -8106
MEMORANDUM
TO: DAN HERNANDEZ
FROM: ROB ZUBER D
SUBJECT: MARR BOUNDARY
DATE: AUGUST 22, 2011
Hello, Dan
STATE OF COLORADO
This memo and the attached documents should explain the history of significant boundary
changes at the Marr Mine.
The one large change in the permit area entailed a reduction of the area when the northern
boundary was moved south to remove the Sudduth /Fisher lease area. The boundary was
moved to the south end of Section 15 in Township 9 North, Range 78 West. This action
reduced the total permit area from 1,964 acres to 1,645 acres.
I cannot find any PRs or TRs that contain this boundary change. After some hours of
searching the records, I think that it occurred as part of MT -02 in 1990. The attached letter to
Dave Gossett of KCC and first page of the adequacy review discuss this change.
From RN -02 in 1992 until RN -06 this year, the permit area has not changed. The total permit
area includes 1,645 acres. Also, as far as I can tell there was no change between MT -02 and
RN -02 (I cannot find a listing of the total permit area in MT -02).
have included a recent map that shows the current boundary.
Let me know if you want to discuss it more.
Rob
COLORADO
DIVISION OF
RECLAMATION
MINING
- &-
SAFETY
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
