In tr`odiiction <br />This document the (decision package prepared by the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) , for the `renewal of the Edna Mine Permit. <br />This document includes: 1) the proposed decision to approve a permit renewal <br />application; 2) a summary which includes a history of the review of the permit <br />application, a description of the environment affected by the operation and a description <br />of the mining and reclamation plan; arid the written findings of'conipliance the <br />Division has made as required by the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act. <br />Detailed information concerning the findings of compliance can be found in the <br />Regulations of the Colorado Mined LandReclamatiori Board for Coal Mining (Rule): <br />The Division has received an application for renewal 'of an existing, valid permit to <br />conduct surface coal mining and reclamation operations at`the EdnaMirie. -The <br />application was submitted by Chevron Mining The mirieis in'permanent cessation, <br />and, at this time, continuing operations are for final reclamation at the 'site. No surface <br />coal mining or extraction of coal is anticipated during the renewal period. <br />The Division last made detailed findings of compliance for the Edna Mine for Permit <br />Renewal No 5, approved January 8, 2007. This document is an update and edit of that <br />Finding. The sources of information for updates have' been footnoted ofidentifred in the <br />revised text. <br />The mine will be operated by Chevron Mining Inc. The mine is located on federal and <br />private lands within Routt County, Colorado. The legal description of the lands included <br />within the permit area includes all or portions of: <br />Township 5 <br />Township 5 <br />Township 4 <br />Township 4 <br />North, Range '85 West of the'6th Principal Meridian: <br />S %NW %, NE' /, 51/2 Section (Sec). 31,'SW' /NW'/ Sec. 32 <br />North, Range 86 West of the 6th Principal- Meridian: <br />E%2E' /2 Sec. 36 <br />North, Range 86 West of the 6th Principal Meridian: <br />E' /a, SE'% Sec. 12, 51/2, NE' /a, E''NW' /a, SW' /aNW' /a Sec. 13, <br />SE %S1/2NE1/4 Sec. 14, NE`/ Sec. 23, N1/2, E1/2SW'/, NW`/SW'/, <br />N1/2SE1/4, W'SE`/ Sec. 24, NE %, N1/2SE1/4 Sec. 25 <br />North, Range 85 West of the 6th Principal Meridian: <br />N1/2, SW' /a, W1/2SE1/4 Sec. 7, NW'/NW' /a Sec. 8, W1/2W1/2 Sec. 17, <br />Sec. 18, N1/2, SW'/ Sec. 19, NW'/ Sec. 30 <br />A detailed description of the current permit boundary is at Exhibit 1.01A of the Permit <br />Application Package (PAP), and encloses 3,257.3 acres.
