DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Phone: (303) 866 -3567
FAX: (303) 832 -8106
November 30, 2011
Mr. Bob Warneke
Natural Soda, Inc.
3200 RBC 31
Rifle, CO 81650
Re:
Dear Mr. Warneke:
In an effort to ensure that the financial warranty remains adequate to reclaim the site per the requirements of
the approved reclamation plan, the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) recently updated
the reclamation cost estimate and provided Natural Soda, Inc. a copy of the estimate on November 20, 2011.
On November 30, 2011 DRMS staff was provided an accurate list of the wells that exist at the site along
with specific dimensions regarding well diameters. Based on the recently provided information DRMS has
recalculated the cost to reclaim the wells and has determined that the currently held reclamation bond of
$1,942,504.00 is adequate at this time. A revised cost summary along with the cost for borehole plugging
and abandonment has been enclosed for your records. Due to the currently held reclamation bond being
accurate at this time the DRMS has withdrawn the surety increase requirement sent on November 23, 2011.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3 Street, Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado, 81501, Telephone no.
