MLRB Permit
UAttn; Berhan Keffelew
Dear Mr. Keffelew
The Small patch of water (25' X 25 ") in the bottom of our excavation
was to facilitate the removal of the last 3' of gravel. The water from the
sump was pumped back to the tailings pond to completely dry up the
bottom of our pit momentarily. ( when we get to the last 3 or 4 feet)
After removal the area is backfilled right away. In a dry period like it
is now it takes quite a while for the water to seep in from our ponds.
There is a clay layer at the bottom of the gravel. We did our digging and
then backfilled the area that we used for a sump.
/John J Miner
CASTLE ROCK, ROCK INC.
(for Highland, D.C.S.G.)
CC: Berhan Keffelew DRMS
Attached;
Will send picture by E -mail
4900 S.
