8. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and redistributed for the re- establishment of
vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil redistribution depth:
Topsoil depth varies from none to about one foot. Where disturbance will occur and soil is
available, it will be pushed to the edge of the drill site or new access road as a berm. It will
be the last material bacK -arug over disturbed areas for reclamation. where it is not
rPrlamation
9. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required abandonment procedures):
Drill holes are expected to be dry. They will be plugged by backfilling with cuttings to
about seven feet below ground level. A five feet plug of either concrete or expanding foam
will be placed above the cuttings. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be reclaimed (refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for
specific reclamation performance standards). You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
Drill cuttings will be spread thin and raked before seeding if no pits are used.
Where pits are dug to catch cutting, they will be backfilled and the removed topsoil will be
spread over the fill material. The covered pits will be seeded.
Drill sites and access routes will he scarified and seeded Rnish, limhs, or trees and rocks
removed in site construction will be scattered over the disturbed areas.
11. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre - prospecting (or better) condition:
Existing roadways will not be reclaimed. If drilling results indicate they will no longer be
needed, new access routes where cut and fill occurred will be reclaimed by back - dragging
fill material towards to cut bank to approach original contours. Any berms of soil will be
spread. Brush, limbs, or trees and rocks removed in access construction will be scattered
dluuy the iuute.
