Pineda <br />Director <br />Re: Seneca II -W Mine (Permit No. C- 1982 -057) <br />Technical Revision Application No. 76 (TR -76) <br />Identification of Areas of Instability within the Permit Boundary and Documentation of Partial <br />Reclamation of Light Use Road LU -2 <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on November 22, 2011 an application to revise <br />coal mining operations at the Seneca lI -W Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision <br />was submitted by Seneca Coal Company, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the <br />Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />The revision provides an inventory of all of the areas of instability that were identified within the petntit boundary <br />in 2011 and includes a proposed plan for mitigation and/or maintenance of those features. The revision also <br />documents that a portion of light use road LU -2 has been reclaimed and will not be retained as an approved <br />permanent road. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden, Colorado. The <br />permit area is further described as follows: <br />T5N, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 <br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, 18, 19 <br />The above - mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Hayden Gulch. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete. <br />At the time of publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally required to place a copy of this application at <br />the Hayden Public Library, 201 E. Jefferson Avenue, Hayden, CO 81639 -1813, and at the Division office.
