Exhibit G — Water Information
Paul Banks and Associates, LLC
Overview
The Debeque Sand and Gravel Resource is an alluvial deposit located adjacent to the
floodplain of the Colorado River. Test pits at the proposed reclamation permit site show
an average groundwater depth approximately 5 feet below the land surface across the
site.
Based on standard practices, no adverse quantitative or qualitative effects to surface
waters are expected to result from the proposed Debeque Sand and Gravel Resource.
Notably, an existing "gravel pit lake" occupies land immediately west of the proposed
operation, but that lake is held in common ownership and will be able to absorb any
fluctuations in water level. Groundwater effects on wells in the area will be minimal.
Water Requirements
Water demand at the proposed construction materials operation will be generated by (a)
worker demands for potable water, (b) dust control, (c) process water (e.g., aggregate
washing), and (d) augmentation or temporary substitute supplies for depleted waters due
to evaporation.
Water demands at the site are calculated based on an assumed maximum working
season of 240 days. Potable and sanitary uses for an estimated 10 on -site employees
will require approximately 0.1 acre -feet per year (33,000 gallons). Dust control creates a
demand of approximately 2.4 acre -feet (783,000 gallons), or approximately 5,000
gallons on each working day at the mining site. Process water will be obtained from
dewatering water and recycled water. The Applicant has confirmed the availability of
augmentation water from several local sources, well in excess of any potential
augmentation or substitute supply requirement.
The operation may also include a concrete and /or asphalt plant facility, but this water
demand is not specifically linked to the Reclamation Permit.
Potable and sanitary water needs will be supplied by bottled water and portable toilets.
Debeque Sand and Gravel Resource 11019
Oldcastle Southwest Group, Inc. 16 November 2011
