Exhibit A — Location Map - See the attached Exhibit A <br />Exhibit B — Site Description - The site is adjacent to the South Platte River and as such fills with <br />water by exposing the ground water which is hydraulically connected to the river. The <br />surrounding area is a tree covered pasture and the pond itself is stocked with fish by the <br />Colorado Department of Wildlife which has an easement on the property. <br />Exhibit C — Mining Plan — A mining plan was submitted in the permit M- 1840 -040 as Exhibit B. <br />Additional Information is provided below: <br />Mining has been carried out on an intermittent bases(to meet customer <br />requirements) since 1984 <br />Topsoil depth is 2 -2.5 feet and will be used to build a berm around the pond. The <br />soils below the topsoil contain veins of gravel which will be stockpiled and used <br />where high quality material is not required <br />Total depth of overburden, including topsoil, varies from 2 -4 feet <br />The pit will be mined to a depth of 22 feet <br />An unimproved road provides access to the site and there are no other facilities in <br />the area <br />Since most, if not all, of the overburden will either be used I n constructing the berm <br />or used commercially (silt bearing gravels) no significant quantities of waste <br />materials will be stored on site. <br />Access to the site is by unimproved roads wide enough for equipment to access the <br />mining area <br />Water will not be used in the mining operation, but evaporation loses will occur <br />from the open pit. <br />i. Water quality of the underground water and the river will not be affected by the <br />mining operation as no chemicals or other contaminants are used <br />A well permit has been obtained and the evaporation losses are covered by a <br />substitute water supply plan provided by the Colorado Department of Wildlife <br />Not applicable <br />The Colorado Department of Wildlife will control the property when the mining <br />operations are completed and plan to continue using the pit as a fishing pond <br />m. No on -site processing is contemplated <br />n. See b above <br />o. See Exhibit H from the M- 1984 -040 application <br />
