A CAT 312 excavator with a
hammer attachment was used to break up any oversized material hauled to the fill area Structural
fill was placed in 18" to 24" lifts using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer. Each lift was moisture conditioned
using a tandem axle water truck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth
drum compactor, passing over the entire fill surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique
is applicable). Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored during fill placement. No frozen fill
materials were placed during the shift.
AMEC observed the structural fill placement. Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored during fill
placement.
PSES Weekly Report WE 10.22.2011
