3 <br />3. Difficulty of control: <br />• Species likely to be controlled with available technology but will not be <br />replaced by desirable natives without an active restoration program <br />requiring resources. <br />• Species likely to be controlled or eliminated with available technology and <br />resources and which desirable native species will replace with little further <br />input. <br />• Species difficult to control with available technology and resources and /or <br />whose control will likely result in substantial damage to other, desirable <br />species. <br />4. Value of habitats (rangeland and riparian): <br />• Infestations that occur in the most highly valued habitats or areas of the <br />site - especially areas that contain rare or highly valued species or <br />communities and areas that provide vital resources <br />• Infestations that occur in less highly valued portions of the site. Areas <br />already badly infested with other weeds may be given low priority unless <br />the species in question will make the situation significantly worse <br />B. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC ACTIONS PLANNED <br />• Appropriate measures will be taken to treat existing infestations <br />• Two times per year inspections of treated infestations to determine <br />effectiveness of treatment to determine subsequent treatments. <br />• Two times per year inspections of site area to detect and treat any infestations <br />that might be introduced. <br />C. SPECIFIC CONTROL PLANS FOR HIGH PRIORITY WEED SPECIES <br />Weed: Tamarisk Priority: 1 <br />A. Current distribution: Phase 1 area <br />B. Goal: Control & eradication <br />C. Management plans: Utilization of appropriate mechanical and /or chemical <br />means. <br />D. Evaluation: Assess effectiveness of management plan through semi - annual <br />inventory; re -treat when /if evidence of plant growth. <br />Weed: Russian olive Priority: 1 <br />A. Current distribution: Phase 1 area <br />B. Goal: Control & eradication <br />C. Management plans: Utilization of appropriate mechanical and /or chemical <br />means. <br />D. Evaluation: Assess effectiveness of management plan through semi - annual <br />inventory; re -treat when /if evidence of plant growth. <br />Weed: Canada thistle Priority: 1 <br />A. Current distribution: Infestations occur within Huerfano County and may be <br />introduced through vehicle movement. <br />B. Goal: To prevent introduction into project area. <br />
