November 9, 2011 C- 1996 - 083 /Bowie No. 2 Mine JJD <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />The longwall was being moved to the B -11 panel. There was a small volume of coal that had been <br />stockpiled on the main coal stockpile bench and there was very little coal that had been stockpiled on the D -seam <br />portal bench. <br />The operator had a crane on site in order to perform annual maintenance on the crusher /screener facility. The <br />upper parking lot had been extended to the south to accommodate additional vehicles. Also, the bathhouse <br />extension construction was in progress. Finally, the water filter building just to the east of the pump house was <br />now up and the trailer- mounted filtering facility was in place, although the unit connections were still being <br />worked on. <br />There were no problems with any of the facilities. There were no fuel leaks at the fuel facility. Bowie is preparing <br />to begin construction of the Terror Creek vent shaft. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />Mine identification signs were up at the entrances to the mine facilities and where the permit boundary <br />crosses a public road. Surface disturbance markers were up around the disturbed areas. Subsidence warning signs <br />were up along the road that leads from the utility bench to the Terror Creek vent shaft construction site as well up <br />near the Hubbard Creek fan site. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />Topsoil stockpiles appeared to be stable and protected with a good vegetative cover.
